This statement has been published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps that altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. has taken during the financial year and will continue to take, to prevent modern slavery in its business and supply chains. This statement sets our commitment and action taken to do our part to eradicate these practices, as well as meet the requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Introduction to altona Diagnostics
altona Diagnostics is a medical diagnostic company that develops and manufactures in vitro diagnostic tests for the PCR based detection of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria or parasites. Headquartered in Hamburg-altona, Germany, altona Diagnostics is privately owned and employs more than 350 people worldwide. The company has been in the molecular diagnostics business for over 25 years and is ISO 13485 certified. altona Diagnostics sells its registered products to private and clinical laboratories globally through multiple subsidiaries and more than 40 distribution partners. altona Diagnostics has had a presence in the United Kingdom since 2017 with around 10 employees today. altona Diagnostics UK Ltd is ISO 9001: 2015, 14001: 2015 and 45001: 2018 certified.
Modern Slavery
altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. censures all forms of modern slavery including exploitative child, forced or compulsory labour and requires its partners to respect this principle as well. altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. and its staff are aware of modern slavery. All our employees and partners are requested to report incidents if they find out that someone has done, or maybe about to do something that violates this principle. We have in place robust systems in place to encourage the reporting of concerns and those that are whistleblowers.
Our Business and Supply Chains
altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. operates in the in vitro diagnostics industry and works with suppliers, contractors, and partners across multiple regions. We recognize that certain industries and geographical areas present a higher risk of modern slavery, and we actively assess and mitigate these risks.
Policies and Procedures
At altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. we are committed to meeting high ethical standards and complying with all applicable local, national and international laws wherever we do business which is essential to create and maintain a healthy environment for all. To combat modern slavery, we have implemented the following policies and procedures:
- Code of Conduct – Outlining our ethical standards and expectations for employees and suppliers.
- Supplier Code of Ethics – Requiring our suppliers to uphold fair labor practices and prohibit forced labor.
- Whistleblowing Policy – Encouraging employees and stakeholders to report concerns confidentially.
- Due Diligence Processes – Conducting risk assessments and audits of high-risk suppliers and regions.

altona Diagnsotics UK Ltd. are committed to continuously improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. This includes reviewing our policies, strengthening due diligence processes, and collaborating with industry partners and organisations to share best practices.
Approval and Review
This statement has been approved by altona Diagnostics UK Ltd. Board of Directors and will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness in addressing modern slavery risks.
